On Friday 8 October the Rural Med Ed and Darling Downs Health Services (DDHS) new student accommodation was officially opened. Along with 8 ensuite bedrooms, the facility features a common room and kitchen, and all spaces are linked by a large, covered deck. The student accommodation was officially opened by Mayor Lawrence Springborg who thanked Rural Med Ed and DDHS for the investment into Rural Health in the area, commenting ‘If we can train people in our local community and give them an opportunity in our local community then they are far more likely to come here and reside here and work here.’
The Goondiwindi Argus published a story on the accommodation opening and the significance for the region. For further details click here.
